Strainoptics' Roller-Wave Gauges

Roller wave distortion can be visually observed in tempered and heat-strengthened glass. The heat treatment process can cause the glass to bow and warp, viewed as ripples or optical distortion of reflected images.

Strainoptics manufactures two basic types of manually operated roller-wave gauges, the "flat-bottom" type and the "3-point contact" design. Each can be used with test methods
published by the Glass Association of North America (GANA) and ASTM.

RWG-I and RWG-M Dial Gauges

RWG-I and RWG-M Dial Gauges
Flat-bottom, Delrin-coated surface equipped with a dial indicator in inch (I) or metric (M) units. Measures peak-to-valley depth of the roller wave. Includes Excel software for easy compliance with new ASTM Test Method C1651-08.

NEW! RWG-DF Digital Flat-Bottom Gauge
Same as RWG-I and RWG-M, but with large LCD digital readout. Pushbutton zero setting and choice of inch or millimeter display. Includes Excel software for easy compliance with new ASTM Test Method C1651-08.

RWG-D Digital Gauge

RWG-D Digital "3-Point Contact" Gauge
Adjustable 3-point contact bottom surface equipped with a battery-powered digital micrometer indicator. Measures peak-to-valley depth of the roller wave to 0.01 mm (0.0005"). For 0.001 mm (0.00005") resolution, specify high-sensitivity model RWG-HS). Includes Excel software for easy compliance with new ASTM Test Method C1651-08.

RWG-LVDT Gauge

RWG-LVDT Gauge
Transducer mounted on three-roller bearings with adjustable spacing. AC operated. Optional signal conditioner/display with peak and valley feature and analog output for plotter.

     RWG-USB Input Tool and Remote
     Cable for Direct-to-PC Data Entry

Accessory allows automatic direct entry of measured roller wave data into Excel or other spreadsheet programs using button on digital indicator or on remote cable. Works with RWG-D or RWG-DF gauges. Includes Excel software for easy compliance with new ASTM Test Method C1651-08.
